I have many good memories of my high school years at Shawnee Heights. I am very grateful for my high school experiences, even the hard ones. I enjoyed my participation in the many activities I was involved in: my acting roles in plays, Concert Band, Marching & Pep Band, Clarinet Choir, Drill Team, Pep Club, Choir and our singing group (Choraliers). I'll never forget the day I looked at the posting telling the 12 people selected for Choraliers for my upcoming Junior year. Seeing my name on that list made me very happy! I should have studied harder but I didn’t; as I was having such a great time with my extra-curricular activities. I attended one year of Vocation Technical School, but did not get to go on to college. So my four years at Shawnee Heights stand out for me. I can hardly believe that 40 years have passed!
My husband, Doug, and I have been married for 35 years and we have two grown children in their 30’s. Our son (is a musician) and lives in L.A. and our son-in-law and daughter (studying to be an acupuncturist) live in Denver. We have no grandchildren as of yet. Doug is an ordained minister. He and I have spent over 30 years working in churches together. Doug is also an author and is now working on his fifth book. My hobbies are gardening, singing, sewing, quilting and watercolor painting. We have spent most of our lives in Colorado and Missouri. We love living in western Colorado and have enjoyed many hours of hiking, camping, skiing, boating and fishing.
We attnded the 20th year reunion, but unfortunately will not be able to attend this 40th reunion. So, this on-line exchange is a good idea.
