Homecoming Parade, Terri Pease – nothing to report

Parade floats – The committee decided to combine 20 years for floats and put the 4 in charge add an era to theirs.  Changes below.  So there will now be 4 floats with 20 years of classes.

      Here are the chairs for those classes:

                60’s & 70’s– No chair for this float.

                80’s & 90’s– Andy Grittman

                00’s  & 10’s– No chair for this float.

School Tours, Cindy Beavers –  Times for tours will be from 3-5 on Friday and 10-12 on

       Saturday morning.

Reeds, Karen Valesano – Lori Meens paid the deposit to secure this date.

     contact with Ron for more information.

  Terri put a nomination for officers on the website.  Those will be taken until the reunion and then voted on at the dinner/dance.

 

   The committee decided to hire a photo booth – Snap Dragon for the dinner/dance for a price of $500 for 4 hours.  Which is ½ price.

January minutes

The Alumni & Reunion committees had a meeting, January 14, 2012.

Those in attendance: Cindy Beavers, Terri Pease, Tammy Stroth, Mike Reber, Diana Morgan, Pat Grimes, Sheralea Grimes, Karen Valesano, and Ron Redmond.

We discussed and have these plans so far: Friday - October 12 - Homecoming Parade 2:10 pm followed by the pep rally at the football field. Terri Pease will get registration done with the high school in the fall. Float committee - Janet Bayless and Dayle Anne Herschell School Tours - 3:45 - 4:45 Committee will need to set up with administrators of both buildings to have tour guides. Welcoming Table to get alumni packets - 3:45 - ? Committee wiill need to figure out what building would be better and get administration approval and set Tailgate with Touchdown Club - 4:45 - game time Terri Pease will contact Touchdown club and get a price for the "meal deal" and add it to the website. Pre-game - Parade by class around track. Terri Pease will get details worked out as to how this can be organized and rules, if any. Game - Times? Terri Pease will get a ticket price from the school and add it to the website. She will also find out what options we will have for seating at the game. Reeds - 5-12 Karen Valesano has both rooms reserved for us from 5-12, so you can go anytime before, during or after. It is a sports bar with food and beverages available. Saturday -October 13 - *Just thought about this as I was typing this - Do we want to put on a golf tournament? It would be a great fundraiser to start the Alumni Association! If so, we need a committee for this! This could be a Saturday morning or early afternoon event. School Tours - 12-2 Committee will need to get with schools to get tour guides for these times. Dinner and Dance - Ramada Inn will be the venue, we will have a cash bar from 4-?, 6p - 7p Buffet style dinner. Andy Grittman will DJ - times not set yet. We are working out details with him. Committees needed - Hospitality - This will include setting up the table for registration at the school and having people there on Friday, after the parade until game time. Checking in alumni and getting their packets to them. Taking monies for those who haven't 'prepaid. Setting up table at the Ramada and checking people in for dinner/dance having people there at 330p until 7p. Taking monies for those who haven't prepaid. School Tours - Getting times and meeting places on Friday after the parade and Saturday 12-2. Homecoming Game - Get seating roped off where the alumni will sit, making signs for those places. *Just thought of something else, How cool would it be it we could have those corsages made for sell, those mums with the SH put on. them with pipe cleaners like they always had back in the day Dinner - Ron Redmond Music - Tammy Stroth Slideshow - Put together a program that can be used at the dinner/dance. Program - Put together the program for the dinner/dance. Website - Terri Pease Publicity - Get the word out via, television, newspaper, any other media that will help. Name Tags - Put together name tags for all attending, Friday and Saturday events. Memory or Event Book - Could be a book to be given at the event or could be a book people could buy with the weekend events featured. Use your imagination. Discussion was opened on whether on not to have All School every year or skip a year. Consensus is to have every year.

 

For 2015: 4th Saturday in June will not work for Capitol Plaza as June is a big wedding month and they want space available for wedding/receptions. Denise will inquire with Capitol if 4th Saturday in July would work. If not, another date will be discussed. Trying to make it easy for individual class years to work into their reunions.

 

Ron Redmon (63) has been unable to reserve Duke Mason and his band; they are already booked. He will be calling on Lorena Pratter to see if she is available.
